Adidas Ends West Partnership; Company Says It Will Cost $246 Million.

Adidas has announced the end of their partnership with Kanye West due to his anti-Semitic remarks.

The decision, which ends a lucrative partnership that gave rise to the well-known Yeezy shoe line, came after weeks of pressure from human rights activists on the German sportswear brand, as well as other companies breaking ties with the rapper. Gap Inc., MRC, a film and television company that recently canceled a completed documentary, his talent agency CAA, and French fashion label Balenciaga are just a few of the companies that have recently severed ties with Ye.

“Antisemitism and other forms of hate speech are not tolerated by Adidas.” “Ye’s recent comments and actions are unacceptable, hateful, and dangerous, and they violate the company’s values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect, and fairness,” the company said in a statement released Tuesday morning.

The German-based company announced that it will end the collaboration immediately, stop producing products bearing the Yeezy brand, and stop paying Ye and his companies. The decision is expected to reduce the company’s profit this year by up to 250 million euros ($246 million), according to the company.
