Kes just released a new song called “Honey Comb” with Busy Signal from Jamaica and Michal Brun from Haiti. Thursday night's BBC1Xtra debut of the dancehall-inspired song featured Seani B. The song's debut coincides with Busy Signal and Michael Brun getting ready to support Kes at IzWE Festival. On February 14th, they will perform in Tarouba, Trinidad's Brian Lara Stadium.
Producing “Honey Comb” is Brun, with whom Kes previously collaborated on the 2022 film “Liki Tiki.” It comes out before the band's next album, Man With No Door. The album will be released by Ineffable Records later this year.
The IzWE event was initially introduced by Kes in 2021. They advertised it as a series of five socially dispersed concerts taking place during COVID-19, which coincided with that year's Carnival Week. Since then, they have brought IzWE to Toronto and New York City, where tens of thousands of fans turned out to watch them. Kes have developed into one of Trinidad & Tobago's most well-known and acclaimed musical bands since formally establishing in 2005. They have worked with well-known musicians including Major Lazer, Wizkid, and Snoop Dogg. Below, you can listen to Kes' most recent song, “Honey Comb,” which features Busy Signal and Michael Brun.
