Video: Rihanna Performs ‘Lift Me Up' at 2023 Oscars
While Rihanna has been relatively quiet in terms of releasing new music in recent years, she certainly made a splash with her latest track, “Lift Me Up,” which appeared on the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack. Not only did the song earn an Oscar nomination, but Rihanna also chose the 95th Academy Awards to deliver a stunning performance of it.
Backed by a full orchestra, Rihanna's vocally solid performance of “Lift Me Up” served as a moving tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman. And as if that wasn't enough to make the performance unforgettable, ASAP Rocky was in attendance to cheer on his lady love.
While Rihanna ultimately lost out on the Oscar for “Best Original Song” to M.M. Keeravani's “Naatu Naatu” from the Indian film RRR, the singer has recently hinted that fans won't have to wait much longer for new music. In fact, she has stated that she aims to release a new album this year.
